GUMBA FIRE!

Gumba Fire!
I don't remember what year my first Gumba Fire was...seems almost as long as 13years. It was at P East, we all know the house neh? Stanley, Skilo, Tshifhiwa...faces one knows they'll find at this event. There's so many people who worked on this dream. In fact, we all are part of it!!

The now annual Gumba Fire music extravaganza has grown to be one of THE biggest music festivals in South Africa. The insane lineup of local and international djs the likes of 2012 SAMA Award Winning Mi Casa (SoulCandi Records); DJ Rocco from France (The Rurals); DJ Ralf Gum from Germany (GOGO Music); DJ Nick Holder from Canada (DNH Records); DJ Jesus Gonsev from Spain (Troubled Kids Records); Live Performances by Meropa Soul; DJ Lulo Café (SoulCandi); DJ Malankane; Deep Xpressions [Bk & K-So]-(House Africa Grooves); DJ China (Phezulu Records); DJ Ofi da Monk; DJ Kilm; Joni Dip; DJ Q; DJ Mshivo; Dr Gee and now HHP and many others attracts house music lovers from the whole of Limpopo and many others from Gauteng, Mpumalanga and the North West.

Besides the formal reasons for attending Gumba (as it is affectionately called), there's waaay more to it. Its about meeting new people, seeing old friends over December holidays, showing off your new hot body, letting your hair down...basically...think St Yves Beach Club. All gorgeous people, dripping in the latest fashion trends, hair styles, shoes, cars...babes, its HOTTT there. Its all the things we love to hate.

Gumba has now collaborated with Dollar-Dropping partners who have seen the massiveness of this event and the 2012 event promises to be bigger, better and is set to show South Africa where to go for their next December partying-spree.

Wow...from humble beginnings...with people collecting money just to get the artists and not for profits to what it has become now. I am in awe! Is this how Macufe and the 60s party started?

I look forward to this year's event. I'll take my camera and click away for my blog. And the mgosi...hehehehe...you see me, stop your misbehaving cos you'll find your picture right here!

Here's to the organizers and lovers of Gumba Fire! 14 years! A bigger, better, safe and well organised festival! And its US who make it what it is!
